2019 reflection

We are reflecting on our year in Room 1 in 2019. We are looking at all the fun things we have done and everything we have learnt.

Haunted House

For Halloween we wrote a scary story. I really enjoyed learning how to spell haunted house. Do you like my haunted house story?

Book character dress up day

It's book week! At Papakura Central School we had a dress up day. I came dressed up as Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. I had gold paint in my hair, a fake chocolate bar and a Golden Ticket. In writing time I wrote a story about my costume. I really enjoyed seeing everybody else's costumes. Do you like dressing up?

Christmas tree

Christmas is coming. In Topic learning we used Google Draw to make a Christmas tree. I used different shapes and fill colours to make my picture. I really enjoyed making my tree. Do you like my tree?

Collection counting

In maths we learnt how to count a collection. We learnt how to skip count in different ways using different objects. To count a big collection we needed to skip count in 10's. We did this by putting 10 ladybirds in to each cup and counting the number of cups we had. Do you like maths?

Grandparents Day

On Grandparents day my grandparents visited the school. We watched a show in the auditorium then they came back to my classroom. I showed them my publishing folder on the wall and gave them some art that I had made. I really liked the show. This is a photo of me with my Nana's and Poppa.

Self portraits

In February we drew portraits of ourselves. We have just drawn another one. I have learnt how to add more detail to my picture. My second picture has eyebrows and a T-shirt. Do you like my pictures?

Shark Feeding

In Cybersmart today we are learning how to make animations. We had to choose our own background and then a character. I really enjoyed moving the shark bit by bit to make it look like it was eating a fish. Have you ever made an animation?

Halloween Art

We made a picture of spooky legs for Halloween. I did this by using paper, cardboard and paint. The legs are witches legs. The witch has a red skirt with an orange pizza on it. She has rainbow stockings and yellow shoes. Have you made Halloween art before?

Dogs

In writing today we are learning about information reports. This is my information report on Dogs. I really liked writing this because it was fun.

Dance Party

In Cybersmart today we learnt how to make a dance game using code.org dance party. I liked the dancing characters. Has anyone played this?

Gamefroot Mihi

In our cybersmart lesson this week we learnt to use Gamefroot to make a mihi. We had to add our own information in to the game. I really enjoyed playing the game. Would you like to play my game?

Cybersmart Safety

Today we are learning about what to do when people bully you online. I drew a poster with a computer on it. I liked to draw a poster. Do you know what to do when you are bullied online?

What makes a quality blog comment

In Room 1 we are learning about what makes a quality blog comment. We are learning this in our cybersmart lessons. Did you know that you should always re-read a comment before posting?

My Holiday

We have been learning to share our writing on our blog. Did you know that you can publish a slide deck to your blog before you finish it? I think that this is boring. I don't like that other people can read my stories.

Motat

I went to Motat. It was fun. I saw a school at Motat. I learnt how to balance on a seesaw. We all got in a car and I was the driver. The tram was fast and cool. Then we had to go back to school.
